Professional Tax Return Filing

Professional Tax Return Filing is a statutory requirement for individuals, employers, and businesses liable to pay Professional Tax under applicable state laws. Professional Tax is a state-imposed direct tax applicable to salaried employees, self-employed professionals, traders, and other entities engaged in employment or business activities. Employers are responsible for deducting Professional Tax from employees’ salaries and remitting it to the state government within the prescribed due dates. Timely filing of Professional Tax returns ensures compliance with state regulations, maintains proper records of deductions and payments, and helps avoid penalties, interest, and legal consequences arising from delayed or non-filing.
